Menurut Naskah Suluk Singonegoro, Para Walisongo adalah pengamal Syatoriyah secara turun temurun. Dalam versi lain menurut Agus Sunyoto & Van Bruinessen, Para Walisongo juga adalah Pengamal Kubrowiyah. Kedua tarekat ini berkembang di India - Bihar, dan saling terkait satu sama lain sebagaimana dalam kitab _Simthul Majid_ karya Ahmad al-Qusyasi (w. 1661 M).
